I’m troubleshooting my life. I’m trying new things in order to see what works and what doesn’t.

I make mistakes. I sometimes learn from those mistakes. Sometimes I forget the lesson and make the mistake again.

As long as I try new things, I’ll make new mistakes. I like the mistakes that show me whatever I tried didn’t work and I should try the same thing under different circumstances or try something different altogether. I’ll receive new data and use it to improve.

Edison made 2,774 mistakes with his light bulb design before creating a useful working bulb. Many don’t think about that many failures, most remember his success. Each mistake was important. He learned each time.

I’m grateful for the learning process and I’m now open to learning this way without being so hard on myself. I’m done with inner-dialogue that belittles me. I’m hoping to train my inner-voice to have the tone of a geeky, over enthusiastic science teacher finding joy in the scientific method.
